This website is operated by by Michael A. Silva, an independent security consultant located in Seattle, Washington in the United States.

Michael has over 50 years of security industry experience, including over 38 years as an independent security consultant. Michael started in the security industry at the age of 14, when he began installing burglar alarm systems. He later progressed through various roles working for security systems integration companies before establishing his own consulting practice in 1985.

​

Over the past 38 years, Michael has successfully completed consulting and design projects for a wide variety of different types of facilities, including corporate headquarters facilities, data centers, manufacturing facilities, warehouses and distribution centers, hospitals and healthcare facilities, biotechnology and pharmaceutical facilities, educational facilities, government facilities, public utilities, multifamily housing complexes, and the residences of corporate executives and other high net worth individuals.

Michael is board-certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International and as a Certified Security Consultant (CSC) by the International Association of Professional Security Consultants (IAPSC).

Michael was President of IAPSC during the 2022/2023 term and is now serving as Immediate Past President of that organization. 
 

In addition to practicing as a security consultant, Michael frequently serves as a mentor to people who wish to enter the security consulting profession themselves.
